The Stag weekend has come a long way since the days of a drink down the local with a few mates, the grooms dad and a barmy uncle. Recent years have seen groups of men heading for destinations such as Prague, Amsterdam and now Krakow in search of debauchery. The more extravagant indulge in week long celebrations to every destination from Tenerife to Las Vegas. Whilst this trend will no doubt continue (after all, it is a very lucrative market), some grooms to be have bucked this in favour of something more local.

Pre-Party Activities

With his wedding date approaching one stag decided to do just this and opted for a Friday night in followed by a Saturday night in nearby London. Here is what the guys opted for in order to enjoy a budget-friendly celebration which catered to all and some suggestions for planning your own.

With work finished for the weekend, the bride to be left for her Hen weekend back at her home town leaving their two-bedroom flat available to accommodate a variety of friends from school days, university and work. The Friday night was a casual affair of drinking games and poker. The popularity of Texas Hold ‘Em in the past decade mean that everyone was able to take part and served as a nice little ice breaker for those who had not met before. As with anything involving men together, over-indulgence was inevitable and the next day the majority were left feeling a little shaky.
